Few days ago, I heard about a simple step on how you can redeem free MTN 100MB Staggered data which is only available to selected customers. But this time around, 9mobile is giving out free 500MB data to random customers (if not all).
As we all know, we are in the festive season, which is all about giving. 9mobile on her quest to show appreciation for being part of them and to give you more data to connect with friends and family, they have decided to credit everyone with free 500MB data.
Unlike the MTN staggered data, this 9mobile free 500MB data has no steps to be redeemed or qualify for. You only have to check if you were given or not.

If not, you can check your data balance by dialing *228#. Data is valid for 3 days.
